The potential role of tau protein O-glycosylation in Alzheimer's disease.
J Alzheimers Dis. 2004 Oct;6(5):489-95.
PubMed.
Posttranslational processing of proteins clearly serves vital functions in normal and diseased cellular functioning. It is refreshing to see tau examined with regard to something other than phosphorylation/truncation, though this is not the first paper to do so. The abstract is not clear as to which of the multitude of potential phosphorylation/glycosylation sites on tau were studied.
