There may be a number of different toxins or chemicals that contribute to development of Alzheimer's disease. D-galactose is also important as an aging model, and together, aluminum and D-galactose could be a model for senile dementia or sporadic Alzheimer's, which most commonly occurs late in life. Possibly other metals could also be tried. Copper seems to be elevated in Alzheimer's as well.
Cinnamon has been noted to reduce advanced glycation end products, which apparently develop with administration of D-galactose, so cinnamon could possibly be a preventive in the animal model, at least.
