This study is a new experiment that may be interesting. It might be just a radical scavenger but melatonin is interesting because it crosses BB-barrier.
Regarding the above comment by Dr Mori, the inhibition of beta-sheet structures and amyloid fibrils by melatonin is NOT exclusively dependent on its antioxidant activity but appears to be due to a unique combination of antioxidant AND structural features of the hormone (other antioxidants do not have the same effects).
